The headline feature this release is Campaigns — a full async video-collection workflow that lets a host email personal recording links to a whole roster and collect submissions with no app or account required. Alongside it, the desktop app catches up on library management and studio join features, and we fixed a bug that could cost guests their recording if they dropped mid-session. • New: Campaigns — send personal links to a roster, collect solo video responses in the browser, and manage everything from one studio dashboard. • Desktop now has save-to-library, Library v2 (rename, delete, expiry badges, playback, quota bar, unfinished-upload recovery). • Guests can join studio sessions on desktop via a magic link, with license/subscription status now visible too. • Fixed: a guest who disconnects mid-session no longer loses the take they already recorded. • Fixed: footage is never deleted just because nobody clicked Recover. |
New Campaigns: async video collection from a studio Load a roster (typed, pasted, or imported from a spreadsheet), and Capturly emails each person a personal, secure link. They record a solo response in-browser with no account or app install, re-record as needed, and submit their preferred take. Submissions land in the org's library grouped by campaign for individual or zip download. Also includes an optional open shareable link, a host-recorded video prompt, per-campaign deadlines in the host's timezone, a talent-release checkbox with a stored acceptance timestamp, reminder drips and manual nudges, one-click unsubscribe with org-level suppression, first-submission thank-you emails, campaign duplication, and full studio branding on emails and respondent pages. Available on the Team tier; org admins create and send campaigns, studio hosts view and download responses. |
Save-to-library and Library v2 on desktop Desktop now matches web: rename or delete recordings, see expiry badges, play back and review your take in-app, track storage against a quota bar, and recover uploads that didn't finish. |
Join studio sessions via magic link on desktop Guests can join a hosted studio session on desktop directly from an emailed link, with a confirmation step before joining. |
License and subscription status on desktop Desktop now surfaces license expiry, trial, and past-due subscription states so users know where they stand without checking the web app. |
|
Improved Stronger desktop security and licensing Licenses are now enforced against the specific machine they're issued to, revoked desktop sessions are cut off faster, save locations are protected against symlink tricks, and studio join links require confirmation before use. |
More reliable desktop installer and updates The Windows installer is now properly versioned so update checks work correctly, and the packaged app ships with a supported version of its runtime instead of an outdated one. |
|
Fixed Guests no longer lose recordings when they disconnect mid-session If a guest drops out during a studio session, the take they had already recorded is preserved instead of being lost. |
Footage is never deleted just because Recover wasn't clicked Recordings that still exist are no longer removed simply because a user didn't take action on a recovery prompt. |
More stable recording stop behaviour on desktop Fixed several Windows and macOS issues where stopping a recording, the computer sleeping/waking, or losing connection could truncate or corrupt the saved video. |
Fewer silent failures and leaks in the desktop app Sign-in, joining or hosting a session, and admitting/denying guests now show clear errors instead of failing silently. Camera and microphone access is properly released after use, and the audio level meter no longer glitches during recording. |
